 The gateway of the China showcase resembles the ornately designed main gate at the summer palace in Beijing (Peking), which also provided the inspiration for the half-size Temple of Heaven, the most visually prominent feature of the China pavilion. As visitors pass through this stunning Temple, they enter into a CircleVision 360-degree theater which symbolizes the Chinese universe. Nearby is the public marketplace, with façades that resemble an elegant home, a schoolhouse, a city gate, and shop fronts that reflect European overtones. Gardens and reflecting ponds within the showcase simulate those found in Suzhou (Soochow) and symbolize the order and discipline of nature. The China pavilion also features an art gallery with a Lotus Biossum gate and a formal saddle-ridge roofline. The entire scene is given an authentic feel as the sounds of traditional Chinese music fill the air.
The top attraction in China is the CircleVision film, “Wonders of China.” This presentation is a film about China presented in the 360-degree format. The screen wraps entirely around the audience and places them in the center of breathtaking scenes like vistas of the China countryside and downtown locations in major cities. The film is 19 minutes long. |
