Divided into three districts-- West Side, Pleasure Island and the Marketplace – Downtown Disney encompasses 120 acres along the southern shore of Buena Vista Lagoon in Walt Disney World. The area boasts an extraordinary mix of entertainment, dining, dancing and shopping. From a stage show and the world’s largest Disney character shop, to themed celebrity restaurants and retail boutiques, to a virtual-reality arcade and sizzling nightclubs, there’s something to do for everyone.
Inspired by Broadway, Hollywood, traditional “downtowns” and the high-tech world of digital entertainment and virtual reality, Downtown Disney treats guests to a dazzling set of activities from morning until well after midnight:
The West Side is home to a permanent Cirque du Soleil® theater that features an original theatrical show, La Nouba, produced exclusively for the Walt Disney World Resort. Next door is DisneyQuest, a five-story, 100,000-square-foot indoor theme park filled with the latest in interactive entertainment and high-tech fun. The West Side also is noted for its selection of restaurants and shops, including Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Bongos Cuban Café, the House of Blues, the Wolfgang Puck Café, a Virgin Megastore, Planet Hollywood, and AMC 24 Theatres.
Pleasure Island is alive with eight themed nightclubs for nonstop club hopping – Adventurers Club, BET SoundStage Club, The Comedy Warehouse, 8Trax, Mannequins Dance Palace, Motion, Pleasure Island Jazz Company, and the Rock N Roll Beach Club – plus a nightly street party that explodes with fireworks, confetti, music and live performers. Admission to all of the facilities on Pleasure Island is included in the regular ticket price of $19.81 plus tax. Annual passes are available for $54.95 plus tax.
Downtown Disney Marketplace features a wide variety of shopping and dining adventures for every age and budget, including Rainforest Café, McDonald’s, Wolfgang Puck Express, LEGO Imagination Center, Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop, and World of Disney, the world’s largest Disney character merchandise location.
