:: Description and Basic Information ::
As guests enter Epcot, they immediately come upon imaginative and innovative land known as Future World. Comprised of two concentric circles of pavilions, Future World is centrally dominated by the huge silver geosphere, Spaceship Earth, perhaps the second most recognizable structure in all of Disney (Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom being the first).

Just behind Spaceship Earth is Innoventions Plaza, separated into Innoventions East and West. Here visitors can indulge interactive displays, live stage demonstrations, and numerous technologically advanced games and attractions. Nearby at the Horizons pavilion, guests can ride a tram past visions of the future, where former visionaries imagine what the world would be like in a hundred years.

At Journey into Imaginations, guests can enjoy some of Epcot’s most popular attractions, including the 3-D film “Honey I Shrunk the Audience,” and the Image Works, a computer-enhanced creative playground. The Journey into Imagination Ride itself consists of a 13-minute exploration of how creativity works.

The Land is another Epcot favorite, with 6-acres dedicated to cuisine. In addition to a variety of dining options, The Land is home to the ecological attraction, Living With The Land, a boat ride that cruises guests through three biomes - a rain forest, desert, and a prairie – and then into a greenhouse where they learn how food sources may be grown in the near future, both on earth and in outer space.

Despite some of its outdated and outdone attractions, Living Seas is always a hit with children. Inside is a 5.7-million-gallon aquarium, once a never-before-seen attraction. However, such aquariums have now been topped at renowned aquariums around the United States, including SeaWorld. Nevertheless, kids go crazy for it. The Caribbean Coral Reef Ride offers a three-minute ride that encircles the acrylic tank.

In the far left corner of Future World is the Universe of Energy Pavilion. The Universe of Energy show is one of the most technologically complex shows in all of Epcot. The pavilion features attractions like Ellen’s Energy Adventure, where comedian Ellen Degeneres and her Hollywood pals lead visitors on an educational ride about energy.
Just a few steps away is Wonders of Life, home to Disney’s first flight simulator (and an educational one at that), Body Wars, where passengers are taken on a bumpy ride through the human circulation system. And Cranium Command reveals the workings of the mind of a 12-year-old boy in everyday life.

Test Track is Future World’s contribution to thrill seekers. Highlights here include Brake Test, where visitors learn how to control an out-of-control car as it skids along the road; and Barrier Test, where visitors find themselves in a vehicle that goes outside the Test Track building to negotiate a steeply banked loop.
