Description and Basic Information ::
|
Visitors flying to Orlando will most likely come through the Orlando International Airport. Often referred to as OIA, the airport is located about 25 minutes (10 miles) east of International Drive and the Walt Disney World resort. OIA is currently undergoing renovations to double the size of the facility. Construction is due to be completed in 2002, but the expansion doesn’t interfere with activities. Today, the airport handles over 70,000 passengers per day, but doesn’t feel crowded due to the innovative design of the terminals. Getting from the airport to the International Drive area by taxi will cost about $25 plus tip. OIA has a host of shuttles and mini-vans that can take you to Walt Disney properties and other area hotels. Call your hotel for details. |
